Parachain Slot Renewal

Parachain Slot Renewal

The Subsocial team has secured six more lease slots on Kusama for the Subsocial parachain, extending the lease by 36 weeks!

Unlike other projects that bid for overlapping lease periods and had to move their chain to a different slot, Subsocial’s lease was extended from the end of its previous lease by six lease periods, or 36 weeks. This lease extension was accomplished through a winning bid of 1,001 KSM from the Subsocial team for slots 25–31. As it currently stands, Subsocial’s lease will expire on Sunday, August 20th, 2023.

After KILT’s recent news about moving to Polkadot, we are considering the same as a potential move for Subsocial, but nothing has been decided yet. We will keep you up to date as we move forward.

About Subsocial

Subsocial is a social networking platform built to support the social networks of the future. These apps will feature built-in monetization methods and censorship resistance, where users will own their content and social graphs. Built with Substrate pallets, Subsocial is a one-of-a-kind in the Dotsama ecosystem, and designed specifically for social interactions. These interactions do not have to be specifically social networking, as Subsocial can support apps like YouTube, Shopify, or even Airbnb.
